Understanding Humans was created by someone who knows what it feels like to be misunderstood — and chose to turn that into something that helps others.
I spent most of my life not understanding my own emotions — and realized almost no one is taught how. As a child I was scared, sad, overwhelmed. As a teenager that turned into frustration and confusion. As an adult I finally understood the truth: I didn't know my own emotional language, and no one around me did either.
No one taught us how to understand ourselves, or each other. There's no emotional lexicon in our schools, our homes, or our communities. So I built the thing I always needed — a universal emotional language, and the movement around it: Understanding Humans™.
Most people aren't broken.
They're misunderstood.
And misunderstanding is something we can fix.
Kristina Green is a 33-year-old Mohawk woman from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory — someone who has rebuilt her life with intention, clarity, and compassion. She has lived disconnection and misunderstanding, and chose to turn that experience into something that helps others.
She has watched the people she loves — autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, trauma-impacted, sensory-sensitive — struggle to express themselves or feel understood. And she realized something simple and powerful: most people aren't broken. They're misunderstood. Being different isn't a flaw — it's a way of being human.
“I've spent my life trying to understand people, and trying to be understood. I created Understanding Humans because I believe we can make connection easier — for every kind of brain.”
— Kristina Green, Founder
People are more than labels, categories, or assumptions. Everyone deserves to be understood.
Emotions make sense when we understand them. Communication gets easier when we know what we're trying to say.
Most people aren't trying to hurt each other — they're trying to be understood.
Understanding bridges differences. It brings people back together.
Emotional understanding should be grounded in research and shaped by real human experience.
Everyone deserves to feel safe expressing themselves and listening to others.
Movement over ego. This isn't about me — it's about all of us, learning how to understand each other again.
Learning to understand people shouldn't feel like homework. Understanding Humans is built around games, quizzes, and interactive challenges — with social features that let you learn alongside family, friends, classmates, or teammates. You build real skills by playing, together.
The same emotional language powers ten tailored versions, each with customizable modules that fit where it's used — plus practical tools like scheduling, conflict resolution, and team communication built right in. From your phone to your classroom to your workplace, it adapts to you.
It's perfect for anyone who wants to improve the way they communicate — at work, at home, or even online. Learn the language, build the skills, and carry them into every part of your life.
When people understand each other — their emotions, their communication styles, their sensory needs, their intentions — everything becomes easier. Relationships become safer. Communities become stronger. Conflict becomes manageable. Healing becomes possible. That belief guides every part of Understanding Humans: the science, the tools, the movement, and the mission.
Be part of it from the start. Understanding Humans is more than an app — it's a movement to make emotional clarity a normal part of everyday life.
